It's time for the spring ornament from Judy Westegaard's fun series of whimsical bird ornaments. This time we will be painting a charming gold finch sitting atop a bird egg ornament, complete with a nest inside! Class fee of $32.00 includes paint and full pattern packet. Surface fee of $ includes all adornments.
Star Book Photo Album
Also Pending: By request, watch for news of a date for another opportunity for the star book photo album. I plan to repeat this class for those who missed it previously.
I took this class in Canada the last time I went to a seminar there. We had the option of staying an extra day for it, and one of the other students in class taught it to us. I had so much fun making it and can't wait to make more for gifts. The list is endless, kids, parents, new baby, wedding, graduation, birthday, retirement, anniversary, grandchildren, and on and on and on...
The book holds wallet sized photos very nicely, and contains 14 pockets. When it is opened and tied it forms a star, hence the name!
This is a timeless gift idea, and who doesn't like a photo album? The class is a little bit of an investment, but you leave with the knowledge and know how to make these books forever.
The class fee will be $30.00 with a $15.00 kit fee. (Note: I paid $85.00 for the same class and supplies.)
The kit will contain all the materials you need to complete one star album, with the materials all cut to size and ready to go. You will also receive a complete set of instructions. Your kit will not necessarily be the same colors as my sample.
Additionally, I will have materials and tools in the classroom for your use including several different inks, embossing powders, heat gun, a variety of stamps and other tools necessary.
You will need to bring the following supplies to class with you. I have included prices as I know them. Use your Michael's coupons, and don't forget that they will take Hobby Lobby coupons and Jo Ann's as well.
You Need:
- 12" paper trimmer, $9.99 or $19.99 at Michael's, Provo craft or Fiskars
- 1/2 inch double sided tape "Terrifically Tacky" brand, $4.99 at Michael's,
$3.47 at Wal Mart
- Darning needle, round point, not sharp (see Jane's sample in studio)
- Awl or piercing tool, or something similar. Tool is $6.99 at Michael's.
- Mod Podge, matte finish. A 4oz size is enough for the class, might as well buy bigger if you plan to make more. Bigger is more economical in the long run. I think 4 oz is $2.99 at Michael's but I believe they have it at Wal Mart too.
- Bone folder, in the Martha Stewart scrapbooking section at both stores. $5.99 at Michael's, $3.97 at Wal Mart
- A glossy page magazine. We will throw this away when finished, you don't need pictures from it or anything.
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pencil
- X-acto knife or utility knife
Please let me know if you would like to attend as soon as possible so that I can plan for supplies.
